Blue Devils celebrate 2010 NCAA Championship

2010 Duke Quad Celebration Commemorative - Images by Kevin Seifert

What a game! What a celebration!

The Butler Bulldogs fell to powerhouse Duke on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Blue Devils 61-59 win set off a grand celebration by the Cameron Crazies on the quad back in Durham, North Carolina.

Mike Krzyzewski has led Duke to all four of its National Basketball Titles. The Blue Devils won back-to-back titles in 1991-92 and won again in 2001.

I commend the Duke and Durham Police Departments, The Event 1 security staff, Durham Fire Department and the EMS workers. The fire was large and the fans were enjoying themselves.

A national championship will bring a huge boost yet again to the local economy. I see a prosperous year for Ninth Street and Downtown Durham.

As for the panoramic photograph of the Duke Celebration on the quad, I am not yet sure how it will be made available. Feel free to look me up if you know someone interested in purchasing limited usage rights.

The Bull City Business Leaders BNI chapter, lead by the Business to Business Sphere, combined forces with Poken and Restaurant Eden to hold a Speednetworking event on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

The event was held at Eden, where the BCBL BNI will begin meeting each week on Thursday from 11:30am to 1:00 pm. The chapter boasts 40-plus members and has been a major player in Durham's small business success.

The group has met for the past four years at the Carolina Ale House but outgrew the space.

Restaurant Eden is located in the SouthCourt building at the corner of University Drive and Shannon Road. The building houses such businesses as Green Tango, Empower Fitness, and W5 Marketing Research.

Restaurant Eden formerly housed Restaurant Starlu and was the Seasoned Ticket when the SouthCourt Building first opened.

Restaurant Eden features and amazing menu of fresh local cuisine advertising a Northern California American menu. http://www.restaurantedendurham.com/

I cannot say enough about BNI. Reminder: March 8-12 is "Make a Referral Week"!
