UNC 89, MSU 82 in BigTen/ACC Challenge 2009

North Carolina defeated Michigan State 89-82 in NCAA men's division I college basketball on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Dean Smith Center during the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Ed Davis led all scorers with 22 points for UNC. Larry Drew II contributed 18 points and teammate Deon Thompson added 14 points. MSU was led by Raymar Morgan with 18 points.

The game was a rematch as the defending national champion Tar Heels defeated the Spartans on April 6, 2009 in the final at Ford Field. UNC has won the last five games between the basketball programs. Head coaches Tom Izzo and Roy Williams seemed to enjoy the challenge.
