North Carolina hosted Boston College at Kenan Stadium on Saturday, October 25, 2008 and the Tar Heels came out with a convincing win. Hakeem Nicks had another brilliant performance at wide receiver with 4 touchdowns.
The big play, however, came from the defense as a long interception return by Kendric Burney landed the Heels on the 1-yard line. The 45-24 victory for the Tar Heels puts them at 6-2 on the season. The Eagles are now 5-2.

Tune Swingers Orchestra Has Them Dancing

I shot the Tune Swingers Orchestra a couple months back but am posting this gallery as I am photographing their Black Magic event this week. Held at the Raleigh Elks Club on October 30, the event will see the orchestra in black tie formal wear and hopefully the dancers will be equally dressed up.
Although many of the attendees are in their later years, there are plenty of younger dancers learning from these experienced "pros". For more about the Tune Swingers visit their site.

Carolina's Native Sun

James Taylor, legendary musician, plays a free concert on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Fetzer Field on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus in support of United States Presidential candidate Barack Obama. The event was part of the Change We Need Concerts and touted "James Taylor is 'Goin' to Carolina' for Obama". Taylor will perform in Raleigh and then in Wilmington on Tuesday.
